La FIDE volvió a dejar sin Elo a casi una décima parte de los ajedrecistas con ranking en el mundo. Esta medida, tomada durante la última semana, alcanza a todos los jugadores de 46 países, incluyendo a China, Cuba, Uzbekistán, Serbia y Argentina, por nombrar sólo a los más importantes.
De los 125.559 jugadores que tenían ranking al 31 de diciembre pasado, al día de hoy fueron eliminados del listado 11.433, lo que representa un 9,11% del total.
